We are pleased to announce "Industrial Romanticism 2," an exhibition featuring a collection of previously unseen prototypes created by in-house designers from eight companies.
The term "Romanticism" in the exhibition title reflects our intention to explore the infinite possibilities of design by focusing not merely on the future as dictated by social conditions and technological advancements, but rather on the dreams and romantic ideals held by each designer as they create new value.
The works on display are all highly innovative--they exist as extensions of product categories familiar to our daily lives, such as video and audio equipment, home appliances, and musical instruments, yet transcend those categories. We invite you to come to the venue to see, touch, and experience these works, many of which are being unveiled for the first time.
This exhibition will expand the range of participating companies compared to the first edition, which was held in the fall of 2025.

<Director's Message>
■ I believe that the romance envisioned by designers is imbued with a determination to bring it to life. Might the collective sum of each individual's pure romance reveal a vision of the future as a culture--one that goes beyond mere economic and technological progress? Love for others, affection for objects, the thrill of new experiences, and respect for nature. I believe in the potential of industrial design rooted in emotion and sensibility, and I hope this exhibition will serve as a small catalyst for that cultural movement.
YOSHIKI MATSUYAMA
Born in 1987. Focusing on contexts woven from elements such as society, daily life, and the beauty of nature, he undertakes a variety of projects--primarily in the field of product design--through quiet, warm, and symbolic visual expressions. He has been active as Atelier Yoshiki Matsuyama since 2011. Since 2012, he has worked as an in-house designer at the Mitsubishi Electric Corporation Integrated Design Research Institute. He is also a part-time lecturer at Hosei University.
■ By seamlessly blending individuality with the public good and moving fluidly between the two, these designers are bringing a future just one step ahead to life. This exhibition captures the uncertainties of a future that lies even further ahead and presents them as new signs of what's to come, infused with a sense of romance that blends respect for the past, empathy for the future, and pure emotion. We hope to share these captivating glimpses of the future--which transcend corporate boundaries--with you all, and that this exhibition will serve as an opportunity for us to come together and discuss a future that warms the heart.
