AXIS Design Center will cooperate the "DESIGNART TOKYO 2024"  to be held from Friday, October 18, 2024 to Sunday, October 27, 2024 by providing venues. In AXIS, a total of 12 creators gathered at five exhibition venues. At each venue, we will hold product and art exhibitions, installations, and talk shows that make use of each venue.

Aiming for a more beautiful, loved, and better space. "WhO" is a wallpaper brand that asks questions and takes on challenges every day for people who are searching for spatial expression. In this exhibition, which is the first exhibition for the DESIGNART, the maze of over 130 continuous wallpapers will be exhibited as an installation. You can enjoy the exhibition space where you can find the fun of choice and new discoveries.

TAKT PROJECT/OKURAYAMA STUDIO「frottage -Reunion with Memory-」

Okurayama Studio is proud of its high technology in the quarrying, processing, and construction of Daté Kan Stone, which has a unique expression in the world. This exhibition features three art objects created by TAKT PROJECT. How did they sublimate it into a work through research and experiments at Mt. Okurayama? Please experience it.

Koji Tanabe 「New Range」

This exhibition will focus on the latest work "Morris Chair" released by Kiritsu Mokko Co., Ltd. It is an ambitious work that was developed over three years by the creator challenging the three-dimensional form that seems impossible. One of the characteristics of this work is that it was completed while considering cost and manufacturing method on the premise of mass production, wishing to propose a "new breadth" to the Japanese furniture market.

JIDA Design Museum

Yosuke Kinoshita「PARADOX Series Exhibition」

The presentation of a product that maintains the same form but becomes a "different existence" in a structure that assumes the replacement of materials. The Paradox Series, created by Kinoshita of the design collective Canuch, was achieved by the technology of IYOBE Co., Ltd., a furniture manufacturer with some of Japan's leading craftsmen.

Seven designers and brands active in Japan and overseas who create works / products based on "wood," which is indispensable as a material for furniture and interior, will gather at AXIS Gallery. This is a group exhibition where you can feel the new charm of wood through the evolution of technology and design.

1.CONSENTABLE / Takusei Kajitani
Takusei Kajitani's CONSENTABLE showcases his 10 years of work designing things that don't exist in the world, with the theme "Deep dive into what I want."

2. iwakagu
"iwakagu," a custom-made furniture studio in Shizuoka, focuses on "wood" and presents wooden furniture that reexamines the relationship between housing and woodworking.

3.MARUHON
They propose a high-quality space with solid wood flooring made of dead oak and furniture that can be custom made taking advantage of the charm of wood, iron, and stone materials.

4.ODS / Oniki Design Studio
ODS / Oniki Design Studio by architect and designer Koichiro Oniki will exhibit new console tables and low tables of the furniture series "Forêt," which are three-dimensionally assembled by developing the Japanese Kumiko woodworking technique.

5.SHINYA YAMAMOTO
"Not cool, but lovely." Under such theme, he applied the atmosphere created by simple but catchy form, materials, and texture to the furniture with an intermediate expression between products and objects.

6.TGDA+639
TGDA + 639 (Gaku Takasu (TGDA) + Toshifumi Momose (hikimonojyo 639)) will exhibit products based on the concept of "disassembly and reconstruction," reconstructing by intentionally adding slight deviations, tilts, rotations, inversions, and other changes during the production process, in pursuit of calculated geometric beauty.

The design unit "tossanaigh" will exhibit a sustainable dining table that utilizes forest scraps that have been resting without deciding how to use them.
