"New Old School" is a provocative photo exhibition with the goal of questioning just what exactly "photography" is. The first event was held at VACANT in Harajuku in 2018, with the strong message that, "Digital photography is not real photography." Participants learned from Kozo Miyoshi, a photographer known for his rich monochrome expression using large cameras, and continue to question just what exactly "photography" is. For the second exhibition at AXIS Gallery, 12 artists who resonated with the message of, "photography is photography" shot on film and worked in the darkroom to produce their work. They sincerely show their attitude through these photographs. Through the dialogues presented by these photographs, please use the present as a bridge to the future. There will also be a talk and an art sales event during the exhibition period. Please feel free to drop in!
