Gelatin Silver Session is a project that aims to introduce the next generation to the wonderful world of silver halide photography. Now, it's going to hold a photo exhibition jointly with Tokyo Polytechnic University's Department of Photography. After 13 years of work, Gelatin Silver Session went on hiatus following its 10th exhibition in 2019. The next three years saw the world around silver halide materials shrink even further. However, there are still many enthusiasts who know what a fabulous artform it is.
Presenting silver halide works by 7 photographers and 17 university students, this exhibition will focus on words and letters that express their feelings toward the medium, and on the research they put into it. We hope it'll give silver halide photography enthusiasts from all generations a chance to get together and share their passion for it. So please do drop in, too! It's also going to go on the road and be held in Higashikawa, Hokkaido.
