JIDA 70th Anniversary Design Museum Exhibition Past - Present - Future, Creating the Future by Looking Back over the Times

JIDA (the Japan Industrial Design Association) is going to commemorate its 70th anniversary with a Design Museum exhibition.
Together with the recovery of industry, the 1950s also saw the "dawn of design." Over the past 70 years, society, industry, and daily life have influenced, been influenced by, and constantly interacted with each other in the pursuit of "enrichment." Likewise, the design world has also put forward a wide variety of new ideas as it has responded perceptively to the changing times. This exhibition will feature the sections "Historical Timeline of Design," "Products from the 50s to the 10s and 20s," and "JIDA Activities." Through these, it will present design from the past to the present, including what it can tell us about the times, how it has influenced our lives, and how it has changed.
"Historical Timeline of Design" will show how daily life has changed, feature products that epitomize their times, and showcase JIDA's activities and important events in the design world. "Products from the 50s to the 10s and 20s" will present topical products and ones that fit the keywords of each era, decade by decade and focusing on the JIDA Museum Collection. "JIDA Activities" will show how the organization was renamed to the Japan Industrial Design Association in 2021, and present its current activities.
