For five days, from Friday, October 30, 2026, through Tuesday, November 3, 2026 (a national holiday), we will host the collaborative exhibition "SURFACE × COATING -- Surfaces Can Be Designed Even Further," a joint project between Bianca Engineering Co., Ltd. and Musashi Paint Co., Ltd., at the JIDA Design Gallery in Roppongi, Tokyo.
This exhibition features samples that combine "Surface"--a three-dimensional surface finish created using Bianca Engineering's 3D data and 3D printing--with "Coating"--a finish that expresses color and texture through Musashi Paint's paints and coating processes.
We propose new possibilities for product surface design that arise from the combination of different technological fields.

Exploring the Possibilities of Surface Expression Through Seven Themes
In this exhibition, we identified seven themes representing different sensations and impressions, and expressed the imagery associated with each through a combination of 3D surfaces and paint finishes.

Surface finishes with a charm that instinctively draws the eye and compels you to keep looking

Surface finishes that evoke a sense of security, familiarity, and comfort.
THEME 5｜SENSORY
Surface treatments that expand interest from sight to touch, leading to new discoveries through touch.
THEME 6｜TENSION
Surface treatments that evoke a sense of hardness, sharpness, and quiet tension.
THEME 7｜ELEGANCE
Surface finishes that evoke a sense of high quality, refined beauty, and understated elegance.
In line with each theme, we experiment with three-dimensional surfaces and combinations of color, luster, and texture.
