Kaori Uchida: Earthenware Pot Exhibition

Please take a moment to admire Mr. Uchida's earthenware pots, with their beautiful texture, soft forms, and gentle, charming appearance.

It has been 25 years since Mr. Uchida began making pottery. He has continued to create tableware for everyday use, with a particular focus on earthenware pots. In addition to his signature earthenware pots and other pieces he has been crafting over the years, this exhibition will also feature several earthenware pots fired in a wood-fired kiln as part of a new experiment. The wood-fired kiln, which relies on the flames and ashes of the fire for firing, produces a unique character distinct from his usual firing methods. Mr. Uchida says that engaging with clay and fire has also given him an opportunity to take a fresh look at his own work.

Admission to this exhibition will be by lottery. The lottery period runs for three days, from the first day through Monday, so please feel free to visit at your convenience.
