We will be hosting an exhibition by glass artist Aki Takemoto.
"Tsumureori" is a term that describes Takemoto's works, in which different colors and textures overlap--much like how warp and weft threads intertwine to form a single piece of fabric. By layering glass plates painted with enamel, firing them, carving them, and polishing them, colors and lines overlap within the glass; as light passes through, this creates the distinctive, deep-toned expressions unique to Takemoto's work.
In this exhibition, you can also view works created by Aki Takemoto, who revisited glass materials and enamels she had used in the past and reimagined them through her current artistic sensibilities. Please enjoy Aki Takemoto's "Tsumureori," a collection where cool, light, vibrant, and serene tones and expressions intertwine.
