Yoshitomo Nara "From Hokkaido, From Taiwan"

Yoshitomo Nara's second solo exhibition at Taka Ishii Gallery will be held. This exhibition will feature around 55 photographs taken by Nara in small villages in Hokkaido and Taiwan between 2020 and 2023. The "Hokkaido" series will feature photographs of everyday life in small communities taken from 2020 to 2023, and the "Taiwan" series will feature works that capture landscapes from among the many photographs taken during the trip to Kaohsiung City and the surrounding area in the spring of 2023. The photographs capture casual daily life and will make you feel that time surely flows in the land and people's lives. As the act of taking photographs is described as "similar to drawing," these works present Nara's way of looking at the world through his eyes and lens, letting us directly feel the artist's sensibilities.
