Exhibition: "Recycled / Recyclable Materials―Approaches to Achieving a Sustainable Society"

We're holding an event showcasing materials and efforts aimed at protecting the global environment and reducing the environmental burden the next generation will have to address, with a theme based on reusing limited resources. The exhibits in the Material Showroom will include mono-materials made from only a single material that does not affect their recyclability, materials through which new value is produced by upcycling industrial waste, reusable natural fiber-reinforced composites solutions that will enable limited natural resources to be used over and over again, and a wide variety of other efforts toward making society sustainable. As well as materials from Japan, the exhibition will also feature ones from overseas held in the Material Library's collection. Also being planned for the exhibition period are presentations on the materials by the exhibitors, and seminars by consultants from Material ConneXion Tokyo. We look forward to seeing you there!

Set against the background of the recent recycling situation, we're going to showcase a variety approaches registered in the Material Library, together with materials picked out based on unique perspectives. Examples will include mono-materials made from only a single material that does not affect their recyclability, technology that will enable composite materials to be separated into their components easily, a magnetic marker that will make sorting and collection more efficient, and technology for removing ink.
