Sony's design department, the Creative Center's CMF x MOOD Installation Will Be Held!
The CMF x MOOD exhibition, sponsored by the design department at Sony Group Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Sony)ーthe Creative Centerーwill be held in the material showroom. Sony designers will exhibit the colors, materials, and finishes they have come up with and talk about working with Material ConneXion Tokyo, which proposed some of the materials during the process. "CMF x MOOD" Installation
Members of the Creative Center study color (C), material (M), and finish (F) and make proposals as to how they should be incorporated into future products and services, based on original insights. These properties, also referred to as "CMF," are an important element to consider in order to offer products and services that resonate deeply with people. However, the same material can create different impressions depending on changing circumstances, such as social background. As such, Sony designers from Japan and overseas have come together to form a global team, and have continuously conducted trend analyses and field research into CMF.
This installation features the latest CMF themes derived by Sony designers, who made future predictions based on the results of their global trend research. Visitors can view "samples" of these themes as reflected in objects, videos, and user interfaces. There will also be a talk session by Sony designers.
The global pandemic has caused some trends to accelerate or decelerate far beyond what anyone imagined, while also creating new trends. They will use the trend predictions they have been able to glean through our creative sensibility as Sony designers, to explore the future direction of CMF when it comes to products and services.
